Darby O’Gill and the Little People, Walt Disney’s classic film, has been posted by somebody in 9 parts on YouTube. Starring the original James Bond himself, a very young Sean Connery, I remember watching this film many times marveling at the scenery and special effects created by the late Peter Ellenshaw. I’ll start you off with Part 1 but you can continue on to the other parts at the end of each video:

Pogo’s New Disney•Pixar “Upular” Tune

Talented electronic music artist, Pogo has created his latest magical audio/video remix featuring samples from Disney•Pixar’s film Up (my favorite film of 2009) and it’s really enjoyable! You may recall one of his other remixes, “Alice”, featuring Disney’s animated Alice In Wonderland.

You can download MP3′s of his tunes at: Last.fm and also check out his MySpace page.

I understand that there may be some copyright usage issues being discussed between him and Disney, because the “Expialidocious” tune is currently offline on the Last.fm page and the “Alice” video is also not up on his YouTube channel or MySpace page anymore. So, you’ll have to be resourceful and dig around the web to find those tracks. However, it’s great to see that Disney•Pixar are supporting his “Upular” track!

Music Video: Enigma – Return To Innocence

One of my all-time favorite songs. It’s been described as an elixir by some. A song to sit back and think, or not think, to. A reminder of who you were, who you are and who you’re meant to be. It’s about renewing hope and getting past the challenges by remembering the simplicity of life. The aboriginal Taiwanese chant grounds the song but sends you on a journey.

A very simple video too, but still one of the most memorable ever made. Enjoy!

Despite being a ‘Mac’ guy, I actually like the tune composed using the Microsoft Windows sounds. There’s a little more depth to the tune. As a note of interest: Brian Eno composed the ubiquitous Windows 95 startup sound.

Big Bot Is Coming To IMAX!

One of my favorite films of 2007, Michael Bay’s Transformers, is coming to IMAX on September 21.

Also, much to the delight of film and music fans, Steve Jablonsky’s (The Island) fantastic score for the film is finally be released on CD. Even those who wouldn’t typically buy a musical score CD have been requesting this one. Pre-order at the links below.
