Korea-Mongolia International Dinosaur Project

Project Overview:

This project is a historical event because it is the first multi-international dinosaur project in the Gobi desert hosted by Korea. We expect that Gobi dinosaurs will provide us with insights into phylogenetics and the global pattern of dinosaur evolution in East Asia as well as biogeographic dispersal events between East Asia and North America.

Project Sponsors:

Hwaseong City

Hwaseong City is located near Seoul where the largest dinosaur egg site was found in Korean peninsula in 1999. The fossil site is now protected by the government as a natural heritage. It plans to build the dinosaur museum at the site in the near future.
